Dovolujeme si Vás pozvat na v pořadí osmou mezinárodní konferenci pořádanou Asociací jazykových škol (AJŠ) - Moderní přístupy ve výuce jazyků 2019. Konference se uskuteční dne 23. března v prostorách Filozofické fakulty Univerzity Karlovy, náměstí Jana Palacha 1, Praha 1.

Anotace seminářů:

Putting the ‘X’ Factor into Exam Preparation

(Rob Dean, Pearson)

10:10 - 11:00, učebna 131

Few people really enjoy exams. Any motivation that is linked to exams is often extrinsic, frequently related to the pressure to succeed - and the fear of failure. But can we foster intrinsic motivation in the exam scenario? This session will look at some ways in which we might change candidates’ perceptions of exams for the better. We will show through a series of practical activities ways in which the exam preparation can become more enjoyable.

To Teach Or Not to Teach?

(Radka Malá, Teacher trainer)

13:15 - 14:05, učebna 130

Should I pre-teach difficult vocabulary or should I let my students guess from context? Should I group related words or should I teach them as they come along? Should I prepare a list of specific phrases I want my students to learn and remember or should I let them choose what they want to take away from the lesson? To teach or not to teach vocabulary in a structured way? In this workshop, we'll explore the benefits of both vocabulary-teaching approaches to see what works best for you and your students. Be ready to try out some practical activities as well as to share best practices.

Practice Makes Perfect. Or does it?

(Radka Malá, Teacher trainer)

14:10 - 15:00, učebna 130

Have you slipped into the habit of just bringing exam sample papers to every lesson? Are you struggling to find the right balance between preparing your students for an exam and having fun in your lessons? Between teaching language and teaching exam strategy? In this seminar, we will share (and try out!) best practices on how to keep all your students motivated, whether they are working professionals with analytical minds or bored teenagers.
