Getting to grips with language development
To improve levels of language proficiency and exam results among lower secondary students, teachers need to spend sufficient time developing the vital areas of grammar and vocabulary. But how can we do this whilst ensuring that we still focus on all the other areas so important for success, not least communication?
This hands-on practical workshop will aim to provide participants with a myriad of easy to prepare, fun and memorable activities to address this question. We will look at how we can develop students' grammatical accuracy and range along with their awareness of collocation and will also show some simple tips and strategies that can be applied to common exam tasks such as transformation and translation.
The session will be illustrated with material taken from Pearson's Next Move, the 21st century course for 21st century students.

When not working Daniel is a keen snowboarder, nature-lover and music fan.

Using learning styles effectively
Are you good at using maps? Do you sing in a bathroom? The answers to these questions can show you what your learning style is. The awareness of one's learning style helps to choose the most effective learning strategy. In the seminar you will have a chance to find out what your learning style is and how to recognize what type of learners your students are. Furthermore we will take a look on what activities you should accent in your lessons depending on your students' learning styles.
